Water of Baptism is an illustrated activity book for 8-11 year olds (although adults will also find it informative) and families. It can be used in an educational or devotional setting at home, church, or school.

Water connects all physical and spiritual life. Besides being essential for life, water is the visible sign of Baptism, which calls us to serve others in the world. Having clean water for all God’s children is an act of justice, love, respect and a core value of what it means to be a Christian.

These illustrated workbook activities tap into multiple learning levels and offer a variety of ways for children to interact with this core value of our faith, making a direct connection for young people between their faith and daily life. Activities also connect clean water and the Millennium Development Goals.

Convenient, informative, and engaging for all ages – and both sides of the brain. There is a wealth of wisdom here, shared engagingly and gently by a gifted writer and talented artist. No (grand) parent should be without this book.
 – The Right Reverend Paul Marshall, Diocese of Bethlehem

Baptism is both a gift and a call to action.  Water of Baptism, Water for Life offers playful and practical ways to link our life in Christ with our call to be good caretakers of God's gifts to us.  Anne Kitch's ability to weave the beauty and power of the Biblical water stories with real life tips, tools and information will make this a touchstone resource throughout the year.
– Emily Given, Director of Children and Family Ministry
Saint Michael and All Angels, Dallas, TX

Once again Anne Kitch has created an extraordinary book. Water of Baptism, Water for Life gives all ages the opportunity to journey together into a deeper understanding of our Episcopal tradition of baptism.  Children hear about environmental issues daily, and Anne takes this secular experience by using real and relevant activities to give us an abundance of opportunities to live out our Baptismal vows. There is no doubt that this beautifully illustrated book will bring fun and joy to children of all ages.
– Ruth-Ann Collins, Staff Officer, Lifelong Christian Formation,
Domestic & Foreign Missionary Society / The Episcopal Church

Anne Kitch’s newest activity book is a wonderful resource for families, churches and schools. Designed for school-aged children to explore and celebrate the gift of water in baptism and in life, it may inspire and inform a week of VBS or a mission project in addition to supplementing baptismal preparation or a program for Lent or Eastertide. Just add water and kids!
– Wendy Claire Barrie, Director of Children, Youth and Family
Ministries, St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, New York City

More than a ritual sprinkle, baptism is immersion into the very substance and story of life. In this deceptively simple workbook, children (and others) are invited to explore the transformative promises they make in church while simultaneously discovering the impact of water within the natural order, our human culture and bodies. This activity book promises to be a deep well of Christian faith and practice, worthy of drawing from time and time again.
– Julia McCray-Goldsmith, Ministry Development Officer, Episcopal Diocese of California
